Masks of Oshun

The white-bodied mistress of fresh waters, the invisible source of life, appears when the silvery glow of the full moon touches the surface of the lake. She rules over all that exists in the world, she is the life-giving amniotic fluid and the sick blood of the dying, the seed breaking through the earth and the ripe, juice-filled fruits, the quiet pulse of the spring and the raging mountain waterfall.

Oshun is the supreme witch, better than any other deity of the pantheon, controls the power aspect of love magic, according to her instructions, love spells, feedings and potions are performed. When the orisha of thunder and lightning, Shango, saw Oshun, he forgot about his previous wives and mambo. He found his peace in the arms of his new, last and, henceforth, only spouse. Embroider with white (silver) thread on small circles of yellow (ideally gold) fabric.
