Astrology and Einstein: starting point (Tsemra Igly)
We speak different languages, but the things we talk about don’t change.
“The Master and Margarita” (c)
Despite my personal aversion to quoting, I adore this very statement and often want to squeeze it into the epigraph of any article on Meta/Physics or Astromancy. Because it succinctly and accurately describes the essence of both projects. Dense metaphysicians and scientists, adherents of different astrological schools look at the same things from different angles and describe the world in different terms and areas. But the world itself does not change from this and remains itself. The goal of both Meta/Physics and Astromancy is to find this world, combining several views and going through this picture beyond the information already known to people of the Crystallized World. And this article is significant and special in its own way, because here we will go even further, bringing these projects together into one.
In the first article on Astromancy, we were looking for a correlation between the zodiac signs of two systems Western astrology and Ba-Tzu. And we faced the following problem: a clear distinction between the signs of Chinese astrology by degrees turned out to be impossible. Like, there was no specific division in spirit of The Tiger begins at 20 degrees of Aquarius and ends at 21 degrees of Pisces. The animal from Ba-Tzu always captured some sign and a third of its neighbors, which caused an overlap. And when trying to study a larger number of natal charts to obtain a correspondence, it turned out that in some years Jupiter captured as many as 2 signs entirely. That is, the overlap became even stronger. Were Chinese astrologers really that inaccurate in their calculations?
The root of the problem was not in the neglect of mathematics, but in the different approaches to coordinates. Unlike the metaphysical Ba-Tzu system, which takes the revolution of Jupiter and Saturn around the Sun as its basis, Western astrology relies on geocentric coordinates, in which the Earth (hereinafter referred to as Terra to avoid confusion) stands still. And it turns out that the Ba-Tzu signs are motionless on the scale of the Solar System, since Jupiter’s trajectory does not meander anywhere. It can be considered that they provide such an indirect transition to the heliocentric reference system for the Ba-Tzuist. And the signs of Western astrology travel along with Terra. The size of Jupiter’s orbit, of course, allows us to level out the influence of this fact so that the approximate ratio of the signs of the Chinese horoscope and the signs of the Western zodiac turns out to be correct. But now Astromantics faces another question: which coordinates to take? Geocentric or heliocentric? And in this question, Meta/Physics is indispensable.
This Meta/Physics was Albert Einstein
The question of choosing coordinates and finding a reference point on the scale of the universe has been studied by dense physicists for many decades and even centuries. The attempt to find something absolutely motionless, or at least to invent it, gave rise to hundreds of theories. Thus, for example, the theory of the existence of ether as a kind of motionless medium, relative to which any changes in position in space occur, appeared. And the most interesting idea in this discussion, in my opinion, was proposed by Albert Einstein.
He outlined it in his thought experiment. In it, a person was placed in an elevator, and the elevator, in turn, was placed in a gravity-free environment. The elevator was pulled upward by a rope with an acceleration equal to the acceleration of gravity. And it turned out that while the absence of gravity was obvious to an external observer, all the conditions of the Terra s surface existed for the “elevator operator”. In connection with this, this person perceived himself as being in a gravitational field. Einstein asked himself: “Is the elevator dweller mistaken in his judgments?” And he himself answered: “Yes and no.” Because although his conclusions are globally incorrect, locally, within the elevator, they will work and find their confirmation.
By experimenting, a person can understand his mistake. For example, by trying to swing an elevator, he may discover that the elevator behaves like a pendulum. And therefore, it is attached to something. But even in this case, he will only discover more global factors, at constant values of which (the elevator does not swing, acceleration is preserved) “gravity” will work. For example, if he drops something, it will rush to the floor just as if it were attracted by Terra.
Now imagine that for some reason you have such an elevator with a window and it goes through space in a straight line at a constant speed. And for some reason you have been living in it since birth. Stars, quasars, the Cat’s Eye Nebula are flying past your glass… Out of ignorance, you think that it is not you who is flying, but space that is flying past you, because you have never felt acceleration or anything that would make you think otherwise. In this case, it will not matter whether you or someone outside the box is considered motionless. Well, whether you crashed into a planet or the planet crashed into you, the result is the same. The pictures of the world from both sides are not critically different as a result.
But if you are moving along some ellipsoidal trajectory, around a star, with a bunch of other elevator dwellers with trajectories of different sizes, then the situation will change completely. For example, it will periodically seem to you that your neighbor is flying back for some reason, although it would seem, why? He would fly and fly around you. And for an outside observer, located outside this system, you are simply riding around a common focus, sometimes ending up on opposite sides of your ellipses. Who is right, you or the observer? The answer is the same as in the original experiment of grandpa Albert. Globally, the observer is right, and locally and to some extent, it is you who is right.
Returning to the usual reality, we find that our planet is very similar to such an elevator. Western astrologers look at the entire universe as if it revolves around Terra. Above in the thought experiment it was described how retrogrades arise in this system. And as it was mentioned in it, such a point of view helps very well to understand the local part of the system. And there is nothing more local than events. Therefore, Western guys are very good at forecasting, and can also be somewhat more specific in the matter of implementing certain principles laid down in the natal chart, unlike Ba-Tzu. For example, in the natal chart Ba-Tzu will be seen a very difficult period of shocks and clashes, in which something may cease to be. And in Western astrology, aspects will show that there is a high probability of a collapse of someone s old personal perception. This is the obvious advantage of Western astrology. However, the geocentric approach led the Western astrology to the fact that they cannot take Terra itself into account, which becomes the cause of a critical and rather absurd error.
Surya and Terra
See yourself. According to Western astrologers, three signs play a particularly important role in the formation of personality:
1) The sign in which your Ascendant is located, it determines your appearance and impression of you, the role you play in society. Its position is determined by the hour of birth.
2) The Moon sign. Your psyche, your thinking and health depend on it. The Moon is in one sign for approximately 2 days.
3) The Sun sign, which demonstrates your true self. And the Sun – attention! – is in this sign for a WHOLE MONTH. All the well-known Virgos on Libra are Sun signs in Western astrology.
This is wildly contrary to the very logic of reality, because your Self is your essence, the core around which everything else moves. It is the heart of your individuality. But in the picture of Western astrology, crowds of people who differ only in secondary criteria, but mostly similar to each other, are stamped out every year in the course of a month.
Because of this, we often see situations where the Western solar sign does not characterize a person at all. For example, I am a Scorpio according to this system. In my life, I have met a lot of people with the same zodiac sign. Even those with the difference between our births in literally one day. Or even with the same day, but in different years. And the similar features between us at the personality level are simply minimal. With some people, there are none. The persons with same signs have different personalities – and it is not surprising why Jyotish, with the same approach, put the Moon, not the Sun, in the main planets. Because they understood the concept of personality and individuality, guessed that the Moon has a very big influence, but they did not understand what the troubles were with the Sun.
Do you know why the error occurred? Because in reality Terra rotates around the Sun, and not vice versa. The Sun on the scale of its planetary system stands still. And the annual “sun’s rotation” in Western astrology is nothing more than a reflection of Terra’s movement. That is, the position of the Sun in the Western chart characterizes the position of Terra in the sign, only shifted due to the strong significance of the error by about one sign back (more about this in the first article). This is exactly the case when the “elevator dweller” ignores his upward movement due to ignorance of the rope, and it is significant.
But how to take into account the influence of the Sun, if it is motionless? To correctly determine the influence of the Sun, we need to switch to the heliocentric system, which reflects the real state of affairs, and then apply some mathematical tricks and the approach of Chinese metaphysics Ba-Zi.
From mathematics we need to take the base principle for the emergence of differentials, integrals and other scary evil spirits. Imagine a figure with three straight sides and one wavy side. How do you calculate its area? You need to break it into many, many narrow parallel strips, calculate the area of each of them and add them up. Moreover, each strip must be made so narrow that the curvature of the wavy part of the strip will be negligible for it. But each such strip will be different from the others, since they will have different lengths.
So, to detect the influence of the stationary Sun, we need to somehow level out the mobility of Terra, which in this context works like curvature in a mathematical example. This can be done by dividing the time of the planet’s revolution around the Sun into segments that will be negligibly small compared to the year of Terra. Then we will get a series of points, in each of which the planet seems to be standing still, but in each of them the relative position between the Sun and Terra will be different. This difference will determine how the Sun influences us at each moment.
Now to Ba-tzu. This astrology operates with cycles. On a monthly and annual scale, it relies on the heliocentric system, since these cycles are significant in size on its scale. This is why there are no retrogrades in this system, the reason for which at the previous stage was mistakenly called the “overlapping” of Chinese signs.
But in smaller periods, such as a day, it includes a geocentric approach, because these cycles are small on the scale of the Solar System, but significant within Terra itself. The switch to geocentrism is carried out due to the mathematical trick from the previous paragraph, because Ba-Tzu considers the sign of the day to be the Sign of the Sun that determines personality. A day is 1/365 of a year, which is approximately equal to 0.27% of the time of Terra’s revolution around the Sun. So this cycle can be considered that very negligibly small length, while remaining a full-fledged cycle, and not a part of it, like an hour or a minute. Nevertheless, in astromancy it is worth taking the sign that is called the sign of the Sun in Western astrology, but studying its influence in more details and coming up with another name for it. For example, calling it the sign of Terra’s reflection.
About grahas and aspects
To fully form this hodgepodge, it remains only to take into account the culprits of everything that is happening – the grahas. It is simply impossible not to take them into account, because everything that astrology considers is the result of their actions. All processes, all periods considered by astrology, are set by the grahas, we only observe them through the position of the planets, looking at them like signal lights on a control panel.
Grahas are similar in nature to a hybrid of a neural network and an operating system. We can say that they are a smart program that supports certain work procedures. Moreover, the processes can be both local and global. For example, in Windows, file security checking can be launched for several files, or for all of them.
It is the same with the Grahas. You can see what processes are taking place in the entire planetary plane, and what are locally in your area, by astronomical phenomena of a local and global nature.
Ba-Tzu signs, based in fact on the heliocentric system, will be more global astrologically than the signs of Western astrology. Symbolic Ba-Tzu stars will be more significant than Western astrological aspects between planets, because unlike aspects, they cover the entire sign with their influence, and not just individual degrees. Retrogrades of planets are local periods of revision and reassembly of the certain planetary geniuses plane. And global retrogrades are periods of planets loss of resonance.
Resonance is an astronomical phenomenon, in which the revolutions of 2 or more planets are related as small whole numbers. For example, one planet makes 5 revolutions, while the second makes 4. And after these revolutions, the planets meet each other. This is the very phenomenon that Ba-Tzu relies on with its cycle of Jia-Tzu, corresponding to the 60-year mutual revolution of Saturn and Jupiter (Saturn makes 2 revolutions, Jupiter – 5). Planets can temporarily lose resonance for some reason, but over time, the attraction of gravitational fields forces them to enter this state again. So, the period when the planets lose resonance will be a global revision period for the entire plane. It is noteworthy that for several planetary geniuses at once. And how long it lasts, as well as how exactly it affects us all, it is difficult to say, since a dense person does not even live that long. And we do not have generations of astrologers who would study this. We remain in the dark for an unknown period of time.
