How to Roll the Wheel of the Year (Tsemra Igly)

Happy Litha, fellow marginal people! In honor of this wonderful holiday, I have a gift for you: an article about the competent use of natural and planetary cycles for your benefit. As housewives used to say on Facebook, save and share it so you don’t lose it. Let’s go!

Wheel of the Year

Using natural cycles is based on the idea that you are dealing with dynamics. Therefore, not only points but also periods are of particular importance when it comes to utilizing natural processes.

The name Wheel of the Year refers to our annual revolution of the Earth around the Sun. During this astrological cycle, the Shen energy that has entered space on Imbolc undergoes a gradual transformation into Sha, after which it is removed from the world. The transformation of Qi is a smooth and gradient process, but any gradient has points after which it is no longer the same as it was before. White, as pigments interfere with it, will become light gray, then gray, turn to dark gray, and one day everything will be black. The cycle of our planet has 16 such points, 12 of which represent the change of elemental gradient (change of month), and 8 are transformations of Shen into Sha.

These points represent a period of severe shake-up of reality, when you literally lose the ground under your feet and something new is built into reality in its place. These points are bad for work and any important matters. Many beings even feel worse in these periods, as a sudden change in space very much affects the internal balance of the elements. Most of all it concerns the eight dates, which are the same points of the Wheel of the Year. Therefore, the best thing you can do directly during these dates is to rest, relax and postpone serious business. Actually, for the sake of it, they were turned into holidays by the people of antiquity. And not only people.

Speaking of using this cycle for performing any action, your attention should be directed to the phases of Qi. The plan is as simple and reliable as a Swiss watch. You need to get in resonance with the phase of the energy that surrounds you. Your actions must be aligned with the direction of transformation and the principles to which the Qi phase corresponds. Since the Qi of our planet is the energies of the elements of Wood and Life, the perfect way to demonstrate the essence of these phases would be to analogize them to the cycles of a plant:

From lmbolc to Ostara it is a time when there is very little energy and very much space. Free soil in which a handful of seeds can very easily be planted. Meanwhile the tendency of Qi is directed towards growth. It is an excellent time to embark on new beginnings.
From Ostara to Beltane, seeds are sprouting. The arable land is covered with small sprouts, both yours and others’. This is the best period for weeding and removing weeds, when they are still small and haven’t taken much nutrients from your plants. But at the same time it is a period when your affairs are just as weak and fragile, needing extra care or they may be weeded out.
After Beltane, rapid growth begins and continues all the way to Litha. The plant takes its place and blossoms in full bloom. And you too should be engaged in the first place in continuing what has already begun.
After Litha, the growth stops and fruit formation begins. It is time to look for ways to get dividends and profits from your action and start making a base for it.
Lughnasadh is the point after which the green fruits will finally form and start to produce juice. It is a good time to develop a profit mechanism, to do things that are almost done but not finished.
By Mabon, the fruits are ripe and full of juice. After Mabon and until Samhain it is time to pick apples, as well as to squeeze out the leftovers from what you have decided not to cultivate further. It is time to sort out which fruits of your deeds are worth eating, which ones should be left for seeds, and which ones should be thrown away after the next point of the wheel.
With November and Samhain, the element of Death comes. Plants die or go into hibernation. It is a good time to get rid of the unnecessary and old, to cleanse and transform.
Yule begins the transformation of the dead plant into ashes, it is being transformed into fertilizer and soil, in which it will be convenient to throw new seeds in the future. At this time Shen becomes Sha and begins to flow out of our world. This period is suitable for continuing to get rid of something. But otherwise, it is not a time to perform, Yi Qing speaking.
In this context, other planets are also interesting, because they too have their own years, their own points of seasons and energy transformations, and they will definitely influence everything that concerns the slices of these planets, and us, respectively. Hypothetically, they can be applied in the same way as the Wheel of the Year, only applied to some separate parts of one’s life.

Retrogrades and the Belly of the Snake

Another important astrological event is the retrograde. This is the illusory movement of a planet in the opposite direction. It occurs when the Earth and another planet are on opposite sides of their orbits, so it begins to appear that the other planet is moving in the opposite direction. From a metaphysical point of view, this period is accompanied by the transformation of a local piece of the slice of the elements, which is ruled by the planetary genius of the retrograding stone in space. The distinctive difference from the Wheel of the Year cycles is that after the retrograde there is no new phase of Qi, we get exactly the same point that was before the beginning of this process.

During the retrograde, graha does a kind of maintenance of the slice, checks for critical errors, engages in repairs. When doing so, the checked part of the slice stops working in an automatic state, which generates failures and glitches. Therefore, to start something related to certain elements in the period of retrograde of their planet is not a good idea. There’s a greater chance of failure because the algorithms you could grow on simply won’t go. But retrograde can also be put to good use. This time is favorable for starting an upaya, as it is easier to bring new data and parts that you need in the future into the slice that is being repaired at this moment. And it will be easier and faster to attract the attention of the graha to your person, as he is already looking where you are.

The Moon, Rahu, the Sun and Ketu, which are devoid of retrograde, also have phases in which their slices go for checking and processing. Except they have only one for all of them, and it is the interval between two eclipses. By analogy with retrogrades, the eclipse corridor is suitable for the beginning of the upaya to the grahas of these planets.
