What a natal chart is and Why you should read it
What a natal chart is by date of birth. When I suggest calculating a natal chart, I am pretty often being asked a question about the reasonability of it all. Why exactly does the natal chart affect the events happening in our life, and not something else? Why should we look at it, and not, for example, at spoils or jinxes and bad genetics? Although, these points too can and even should be looked at and should never be written off.
What is a natal chart in the Ba-Tzu system? What advantages does it have and what can it give to a common man, far from Chinese literacy? It is extremely difficult to explain it in two words, so I will try to do it in three. I emphasize that all the information here is simplified and is written primitively, for the sake of clarity. As they say, don’t try to repeat it at home. 🙂
There are 13 elements in the world. Chinese metaphysics considers 5 of them – fire, water, earth, wood and metal (aka air). Each element corresponds to a planetary genius and its spheres of influence. In other words, essentially, we have the same map of planets as in Jyotish or Western astrology, only with differences of an Eastern flavor and the possibility of correcting anything and anywhere.
When a person is born, the full date of birth – the time (hour), day, month and year of birth carry 4 paired signs, the element and birth sign. For example, you might be the Rabbit and the Wood. Or the Snake and the Metal. It’s all extremely curious to calculate, to find personal character traits, but you obviously already know your own character, so why else might you need the chart?..
Besides, it’s not free.
Because further you literally start dancing with tambourines until the rest of your life.
There are two global centers of the map – elements (Wu Xing) and calculations (Ba-Tzu).
Wu Xing considers you as a unit that has 5 elements in different proportions combined in and prescribes certain corrections of the current situation. In other words, each part of your life is subordinated to some element, and you yourself, as a person, is also a subelement of some of them. For example, if you are an element of Water, it is reasonably beneficial for you to swim, sit by water, take a bath and drink a lot. I’m oversimplifying, there can be cases with a surplus of water, but that’s generally the way it works. If you are short of money, and according to your personal chart your money “based” in the Wood, then it will be logical that we should write all amulets on wood and add water, so that the money can “grow” strong on it. And amulets will also work using their full potential, because they carry the necessary things on all sides at once.
Hence the concept of harmful and helpful elements of the natal chart – the Fire and Fire people will “melt” Metal people and “boil” Water people. And people of Earth will nourish and support Wood personalities. That’s why we feel good and bad around certain people. Sometimes we can get exhausted by someone in just 3 minutes, but sometimes we leave someone feeling rested and refreshed.
And there are stalemate situations when you need something even if it kills you, but is essentially nothing but only harmful for you. In my practice I had a woman who desperately wanted to get married, but men were bringing her Fire, literally incinerating her gentle Yin Wood element. When she met a man, even a wonderful one, she was feeling permanently sick and weak.
Attractiveness to the opposite sex depends on the balance and quantity of certain elements too. This is why many outwardly good-looking people cannot start a family or even get into a relationship. And meanwhile much less interesting people could find themselves barely managing to fend off the downpour of offers.
As for Ba-Tzu and calculations, the planetary situation changes every 10 years globally and every year locally.
And even specifically, it changes every month. And each change brings one event or another, sickness, revitalization or fading of any part of life.
Each season the main element of your region also changes. In winter, there is a lot of Water, in summer there is a lot of Fire, in spring there is a lot of Wood.
Depending on who you are, your well-being will change. For example, in the Water season, a water sign will be fine. And in the Fire season, they will be sick or at least feel weaker.
Every year comes the sign of one or another combination of elements and planets. And if your sign is in conflict with the arrival one, you are able to pretty accurately calculate in which sphere there can be a collapse or aggravation. If your real estate sphere is under the sign of the Bull, it is logical to conclude that “during the Bull” it will be active, whatever it means (activity happens not only in your favor).
Every month the animal and element changes. Which means you will always have good and bad months, depending on who you are and who is “coming”.
Speaking of practice, let’s assume your sign (The Day Master) is the Horse. Every year and every month of the Horse you are guaranteed to feel bad emotionally – explosive emotions, rage, mind which you fail to control, painful excitement. Later you will not realize it yourself where such TNT-hysteria came from. The Rabbit and the Rat ruin the relationship. Dragon, when meeting Dog, carries the collapse of different things in life, you can even get fired. The Rat, meeting the Horse, brings mental problems.
The Rabbit with the Rooster brings accidents and conflicts.
The Dragon during the Dragon becomes a dull shit, pessimistic and whiny. Everything becomes endlessly bad even when you have no apparent reason for that.
The Rooster during The Rooster falls into binge drinking or unhealthy addictions.
Are you starting to guess why the mainstream tradition of carrying the symbol of the year with you is a very bad idea yet? When encountering a duplicate, even a tiny one, the sign behaves differently, but most often – badly and not in your favor. Of course, having a figurine of a Rooster with you in the Year of the Rooster won’t send you into a binge drinking the next day, but if your chart already contains one or more Roosters, and the Year of the Rooster arrives, followed by the Month of the Rooster… and then there’s a Rooster figurine on your desk… The logic is clear – you strengthen the duplicate and bear the full consequences.
There are tons of such combinations.
It also happens that the two signs brutally beat the third. For example, if there is a pair of Snake and Monkey, then the upcoming Tiger will get hit by them both permanently. This rule applies not only to year and month (for example, if you are the Tiger, then in the year of the Snake and the month of the Monkey you will feel boo-boo), but also the combination of people. A group where there are people with three conflicting signs will always have the weakest sign at a disadvantage.
At first sight It would seem that all people are decent, but no, “John Johnson did not settle in the firm, scandals began and eventually he”s got fired”.
And situations like this can go on not only for a year, but for a Luck Pillar! Yes, the situation will repeat for all 10 years in different variations, no matter how hard you try to avoid it. For example, if you have a conflict with your boss, you will have it for 10 years in a row at any job.
In the year of the Dragon and the month of the Snake, the Dog sign loses its home and dwelling. In the Tiger and the Rabbit, the Rooster loses confidence and goes into a binge of any kind. In the Rat and the Bull, the Horse loses loved ones. The Snake in the Dog and the Pig can get fired or sued for negligence and temporary blurring of the working mind.
And also such a situation can be laid in the chart itself, when all of these signs are gathered in 4 Pillars of yours in the natal chart. Therefore, if you are continuing to make the same mistakes again and again for 30 years in a row, perhaps it is not about your personal shortcomings, but about the fact that this program is embedded in you from very birth.
The list is huge, the combinations are almost endless. I think you’re already starting to realize that spoilages fit perfectly into this scheme 🙂 Because if a disaster is “planned” for a certain year or pillar, it can simply come to you in the form of spoilage. Why not? Spoilage is also a misfortune. Just by knowing your sign and knowing in advance that a difficult period is coming, you can prepare yourself for it.
However, there are just as many positive “meetings” in years and pillars. For example the Rabbit, meeting the Dog, finds a home, his dwelling.
The Rat in the year of the Bull blossoms in creativity and can become famous.
The Dragon in the Snake reaches the peak of magical talent, can seriously advance in career and studies.
The Dog meeting the Pig finds home and comfort.
In pillar, year and month can “come” wedding, birth of children, lots of money and traveling. The same pregnancy, a sore point for many, can not come without a certain combination of signs. Or, on the contrary, comes in any case, by any measures. And if we see these signs in the time period, we know in advance the dates of giving birth to children, the probability of marriage, etc.
So, anyway, it’s good and useful to look at energy, but I would recommend taking a broader view and not pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion with cleanses, as many people like to do. If the problem stays, it probably may not be where you are searching for it. Always proceed on the principle that you can be wrong and that it is always better to add than to subtract.
